Everything below will be prayed for!

I am recruiting people with the spiritual gift of intercession here, my MOM (Carrie Ferguson) is one of these people, let me describe her prayer life to you, or at least just this one detail. She (to my understanding) keeps a journal of things to pray for, more in a sec, let me catch you up.

Pastor Matthew (our pastor here at 24-seven) was my youth pastor a few years ago, right when he came out from Andrews University. He had a great impact on my spiritual life because he told me that you can live with GOD, he didnt like it when his class mates at college told him that his “on fire"ness would fade away and he would become a normal christian soon. Matthew is a special person to me, and it started back then. Anyhow my mom began to pray for Matthew back then...every day. She has him in her prayer journal and to THIS DAY, she still prays for him, I asked her recently.  This is only one example of someone with this particular spiritual gift. There are many, they are the karate part of the body of the church, in my eyes, because without their awesome skills and willingness to engage in direct spiritual battle our church would be far more easily assaulted by evil influences.

As I find them, I will invite these warriors to periodically visit our prayer requests list and spend the time to pray for all that they feel impressed to. You may discover as you pray in this area that you are a warrior too. Now we, as people with other spiritual gifts, must support these prayer “guru’s” when you leave a request consider praying for the lot of them, or pray for a couple specifically. Don’t let the few do all the work. (and please dont feel guilty about leaving requests quickly then taking off) that would be a negative experience here, and that is not what GOD would want either.

Please pray for 24-seven.

When I pray I ask God to cup a protective hand over us. I pray that our church is filled with passionate people. And that we will learn to love GOD, and worship him as if we even halfway understood how much he loves us.

But you can pray for 24-seven how ever you want.

That thru our outreach we continue bringing people closer to god.

That we grow stronger in our faith (Having Ty Gibson here last week helped me in ways I cannot describe)

That the uw 24/7 adventis group is an overwhelming success. Last week we had a lot of uw students here, I have been praying that we will see them this saturday.

Jesse

I would like to suggest we explore who in our church family has recieved the spiritual gift’s of prayer and intercession.

Pastor Matt’s spiritual gift class would be a graet place to recruit from and start the formation of a prayer ministry in our church.

Jesse!  Howdy!  This looks like a great idea, online prayer requests coupled with the intercession part of the body of Christ. Great idea.  A couple of questions (perhaps the answers would be more obvious to someone a little more computer literate then myself).  1) i dont see any prayer requests listed here, is this because they are being kept confidential somewhere? This may be a good idea. 2) is this the place where i post my prayer requests? since i don’t see others it causes me to wonder.  I assume that this response will be one read by everyone that looks at the web page.  My current prayer request has no need for confidentiality but some may need to be kept more for only certain eyes.

My current prayer requests: God’s guidance for job search.  I am thinking seriously about looking at teaching English in Korea.  Is this what God would have me do? Is this the time God would have me do it?  If so then I need God to send me all of the info i need for right decision, and i need to know that i have all of the info i need, (one can always feel like they need more info).  Thanks for the place to put prayer requests!

Dan,

Yes this is a prayer request spot, I never made it in here to place the one you just said, I appologize.

I would like prayers for Clean Slate improv. I think we can make a difference in this area...but there are some heavy hurdles in the way because our three MAIN people with all the responsibility are leaving for more schooling. Please not only help CleanSlate stay alive but thrive with your praying...and make sure to say “your will be done” because I dont want it to exist if its not something God approves of (but I think it is).

Hey all…

I just received the news today that my half-sister (from my Fathers first marriage) is in critical condition in here home town of Tallahassee, FL; if you could offer a word of prayer for her that would be great.  The family was told last night that she would not make it through the evening.  She did make it and went back in for surgery today.  I know that her life is not going to be the way it was before, but I do pray that the Great Healer will provide her with strength and health.  I am encouraged to know that over the past few years Debbie has been actively growing in a relationship with Jesus.  That alone is very comforting.

Thanks for your prayers in Debbie’s behalf.

I Just took quite a while praying for everything here.
Pray that you understand how and why God answers these requests the way that he is.
Please pray for our prayer team who goes over this forum, and please say a quick prayer (right now) that we will continue to grow stronger in our commitment to be a prayerfull core in 24-seven.

please pray for my mom, shes all alone in Montana teaching in a 1 room school. This has got to be taxing.

and please pray for our childrens ministries class. We are in the middle of a project designed to teach them that each human has a unique set of Holy Spirit given gifts. Help us be praying that we can teach them how to find them and how to use them. Pray that we get help in there. Neither Brenda or I are gifted as teachers and this is a stressfull weight to support. Pray that the perfect person snaps into place there. Someone who will love the kids, let them have a BLAST and teach them how to be lightbearers.

Lovingly,
Jesse

I would be interested in exploring this a bit further to find ways that we can get more people on here posting prayer requests.  It has been on my heart recently to pray for our church and the developement of each one of us involved.  As has been mentioned over and over again, 24-Seven is not about a building, but about the people.  I pray that we as a body of believers are growing closer to Jesus in our daily lives.  I pray that His Spirit gives us the power to be faithful to His calling on our lives.  I pray that our church explodes with growth as peoples lives are touched for eternity.  I pray that my life is radically renewed by His power daily.

Blessings!

Christmas is nos SO CLOSE. I prayed that as we shop and drive and commune that we are safe and that our minds are constantly drawn drawn to thoughts about God. I really wish we woud abandon our wills to God because there is so much work our Father in Heaven has asked us to do, pray for procrastination to die, this is a weak point in this church I think.

Hi guys...I will pray for your mom Jesse, and for the person you mentioned as well, Mathew.
I know we’re not officially still attending, but you all are like family to me.

I have a burden for all of our families. So many are going through so much it seems.

You all probably got the e-mail about Margo Colvin, but I thought I would post this...she had a stroke, and needs prayer.

She attended the Snoqualmie Valley church with us....

Barb,
I prayed for her, i prayed that she was reached sooner than later, and that whatever her mind is like now that her family can accept it work with it and love her even more. My dad died from a stroke so I feel their pangs of worry and need of prayer.

Please everyone keep posting prayers in here.

and please take a moment to pray for our pastoral staff. Pray for their organization, passion, strength or character, and that they get all the support form us that they need.

Three prayer requests. 1st of all Ashley has Satterday’s off now and she is planning on coming to church, praise God for this and pray she will recieve His message to her. Also “D” and I will be on our way to Africa Monday with a group from the Kent Church and Auburn Acadamy. Please pray for blessings not only to the people we serve but for all who have committed to this trip. Also pray “D"s skin will not be irritatated more from anything she comes into contact there. Her eczema leaves her open for many organisms to invade. and she has been on antibiotics twice in the last two months for skin infections. It is my beliefe that God has allowed this condition to keep her humble and to grow stronger through His streanght. It is my belief that Satan uses this as a temptation to seperate her from God. This is hard to understand if you have not had a condition that you constantly struggle with. D itches and has a type of nerve pain that is hard to control as well as dealing with the appearance of it. Fortunalty God has over the past few months led us to medications that help level of the discomfort, and minimize the extent of the eczema compared to what it used to be only last summer. smile This week was “D"s birthday and I thank Him for her. grin

Thanks Jessie, and for all other prayer warriors! God is very good to us. I am also thankful God put you and Brenda in “D"s life, she has a lot of respect for both of you.

Welcome! Praise our loving Papa and God of the universe!

Please pray for Brenda and I we have been having meetings that are encouraging to our goals of creating a video teaching series.

These could be used by anyone to evangelize to everybody. From people who HATE God to those who already think of him as their best friend. We hope to create this progressive sequence of videos because what we see available we would not use ourselves and would be embarrassed to show anyone.

THese are outreach driven educational/expose mindblowing documentaries bringing anyone watching them to the next step in their spiritual journey.

Please bless our mission!

Thank you guys for keeping up the prayer ministry!  We need to keep building this important piece.  I really think that we need to focus on building a prayer team @ 24-Seven.  I know that there was one meeting to get it started a few months ago, se we need to keep that going!

Blessings and prayers ascend…

PS - Kimberly, it was great to see your daughter at church this past Saturday!

Darrylynn and I just returned from a 3 wk mission trip in Kenya. We integrated with the Masai tribe and we loved them. They are the most primitive tribe there in Africa and are looked down upon by all other tribes.  The highlight of our trip was on the last weekend our group was to go on a Safari but Darrylynn and I opted not to go and instead return to one of the churches a couple miles walk from our compound. We were so glad we did, it was the highlight of our trip. We had Sabbath school with the children in a class room that was just a hut on stilts with only a roof, floor and sort of half walls. We than enjoyed church with wonderful local music and dance inside a relatively new cement block wall church with wooden benches. Afterward “D” passed out some of her beanie baby dolls to some of the kids. It turned out one of the kids was the daughter of a chief so her mother asked us over for tea after lunch. We had already visited this booma which was a mile from the church but decided it would be nice to sit down with them and let them ask us questions. We arrived at Chief or Elder Ben’s booma and we were escorted to one of his wife’s huts. The huts are not even 6ft tall, made out of cow dung and sticks. We sat in a tiny room with a total of 6 adults and a couple of children. We accepted the bush tea (which they agreed to boil the water for 10 min and I prayed the cup was clean.) and watched while Nazarene, Ben’s 1st wife made us a beaded bracelet. We talked of many things and had a language lesson as well. I had already learned several Masai words and phrases from my interpreter who had worded with me at the clinic. We could not have imagined any better way than to spend a Sabbath afternoon! The gospel and following god is so important to them! That is what most of their songs are all about. After our sad parting form Ben’s booma we headed back to our compound on foot and came across about 20 children with my interpreter and the pastors wife sitting in a valley under a large tree singing and playing duck, duck goose. Many from our group could not understand why we did not go on safari but that truly was the climax of our trip.

Darrylynn mostly worked on the vacation bible school and I was part of the medical team. Darrylynn was recognized as one of two of the students who most integrated in with the children. She loves the people as much as I do. She had them on her lap (bugs and all) and sang and played games with her. This was the first time she was not allergic to the many fruits and vegetables that she is allergic to here. Which leads me to believe that it is she is allergic to the chemicals and not the food it’s self. The medical team worked out of an empty clinic 3 days, a church two days and at a primitive boarding school the rest of the time. I must have wormed over a 1000 people. We saw T.B., abscesses from being stuck by thorn bushes, ear and eye infections, dehydration and multiple other things. It was great to be able to relieve a little of their suffering!

The Masai people have no electricity, running water or even an outhouse. They go to the bathroom in the bush. You see little children shepherding the goats and cattle. Children live with their mothers until they are 6 and than go to live with their grandmothers. Goats and cattle are their money. They eat mostly meat and milk and even blood from live cattle. They bury their men under the cows corral (which is in the center of the booma), bury their children outside the booma but near their hut and the woman are buried further away from the booma. A booma is the fence made out of thorn bush branches that is a couple of feet thick and at least 7 ft high to keep out wild life. The booma encircles the little village with the huts being right next to the booma, with the cattle corral in the center. Small fenced in areas may be in between huts for the goats. A baby goat or calf is kept in the front room of the hut (menyate is the Masai word for their home)at night so as to keep them from draining the mother of all its milk. There is a balance of how much milk the baby calf or goat is allowed to have and the milk that the Masai need for them selves. Letting the calf back to its mother in the morning is the first job of the Masai wife. Men and woman do not eat together, in fact a woman can not even touch the man’s food. The men cook their meat together out in the bush. They are allowed to drink tea (chai) together. They put about a third of a cup of sugar in their tea. The men are circumcised at age 18 and the women are circumcised by other woman at the age of 13 or 14 with a blunt instrument (many have bleed to death from this practice). They do not kiss, or show public displays of affection. In fact the woman is not allowed to touch the man with her hands above the neck or below the waist. I know this is more than you wanted to know.

To make a long story short I felt being among these people is where I want to be and so Darryl and I are praying for God’s will. I am asking for prayers of affirmation of His will. The whole visa process is not an easy course for this country. One of the pastors there feels as I do that the Holy Spirit is calling us there. He has some contacts with the immigration authorities and will write to me when he gets to Nairobi again. If we do end up going we will probably work under another agency in order to get and initial 6 month visa while we work on a permanent visa which can take up to 2 years to get. We need to have an independent work or investment visa in order to stay on which means we have to have a business their which pulls in an income to support us, perhaps some kind of flight program since a clinic will not make any money. I also would have to work at a hospital in Kenya or as a school nurse for a month in order to get my RN license there.

Please pray for Tom, he is a native american from the White Clay Nation, he has been attenting a 10 person church at Fort Bell Knap Montana. My mom keeps being impressed that he should be a pastor, every time she sees him she has a very strong conviction. Pray that GOD’s will is done in this situation.

Yes Darryl and I will pray for Tom. When anyone ever tells me they have a strong conviction I feel we must follow through and support in any way or it is like turning our back on God’s will.

Was hoping to talk to you at church, Jessie, but got busy with all the other conversations going on.
