The cover on this weeks (nov. 15-21) Seattle Weekly ask’s the question “ What would Jesus do about aids”
Should we as Christians take more of a leadership role?

I think he would probably do something similar to what he did with leprosy. He would heal those who came to him and asked for help. He would probably not create any organizations or make a big fuss about AIDS. WHy? Jesus came here to give us an example of a perfectly lived life, which is total lifelong devotion to Gods will, and showing all other humans how much God loves us. He was a conversationalist, yes he spoke in big groups, but it was not his thing to get involved in something as world minded as an epidemic. It is MY PERSONAL beleif that if he was here, he would be more concerned with making sure those with AIDS were leading a life in friendship with him, so they could live forever, rather than prolonging life on this earth. Im not saying we shouldnt get involved in education about, or in helping people with AIDS, I AM saying...lets be missionaries to them too, lets show them LOVE.

Jesus would touch them, hug them, heal them, go to their houses for lunch. I agree with Jesse in the fact that AIDS is today’s leprosy. Jesus didn’t wipe out leprosy, but He cured those who asked, and he would do the same. Probably the same with cancer. If people had faith, they would be healed. That’s the amazing thing about Jesus, He never holds one person over another. And I thank God for that.

I really don’t know my answer would always be a human’s point of view, but the way I see it is Jesus would never judge them, and if they come to him for comfort He’ll give it to them selflessly. Something very few human ever will do to people with Aids. if there is one thing though I can ask from Him for people with Aids is a cure and the grace for people to responsible with their bodies.
