Enhance your prayer life

Tonight at 6:15 we jumped into a discussion of how to enhance your prayer life.

Sometime over the next week, schedule a time to meet Jesus.

1 - Take a moment to sit and be still with Jesus.

2 - Slowly read through the Lord’s prayer:
:1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” 2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. - Luke 11/Matthew 6

3 - Writer a prayer response to God based on what you’ve just read.

4 - Allow Jesus to speak to you by writing a response in your journal from God to you based on the scripture you’ve just read.

If you are comfortable with it, let us know how your experience was.

Blessings and see you Thursday night at the Parramatta Church at 6:15 for discipleship and 7:30pm for the evening session.

Thanks for both programmes tonight. A few years ago after a Womens’ Ministries Retreat, I started getting up at 6am, reading my bible and writing in a journal. It’s so peaceful at that time in the morning, you do feel closer to God in the quiet time. Unfortunately the winter months came along and a warm bed won out. I’d like to get back into the habit of reading and journalling, I need to make the time, I must make the time.
Thanks again,
God bless,
See you tomorrow night (oops it’s tomorrow already raspberry )

looking forward to tonights mini talk at 6:15 last nite really got me thinking about how little time i actually spend alone in quiet time and i really love the idea of journaling an answer back from God!
then last night with ‘B’ it’s funny (not so much funny as unfortunate) that on the day set aside for rest and dedicated time to God we actually find ourselves as being the busiest! Sabbaths seem to be the busiest but i think we all just need to reminded or told for the first time about being! i’ve read that text many times but the profound or important part always was knowing that God is God, i loved the new way it was told!
thanx

God has been impressing on me in the last year about spending quiet time with Him in the morning, and only in the last couple of months about journaling.  And like you said to get into nature, it really does recharge the soul. I found these texts useful in committing time to God in the morning as it is in His word and not just what somebody thinks is the best way to spend time with God. I hope that these may encourage others to spend time with God in the morning, Ps 5:3, Ps 92:2 and Ps 143:8. Thanks for reaffirming this for me and getting me back on track!  GOD BLESS =)
