The Road Less Traveled
Last night I shared how Jesus took me from a life of selfishness and sin to a life of selflessness in service for Him. The Scripture reading was Isaiah 33:5,6 which tells us that : 5 The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high;
he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness,
6 and he will be the stability of your times,
abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.
When I first came across this passage something resonated deeply within me. The LORD IS EXALTED! HE WILL FILL US WITH JUSTICE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS! HE IS STABILITY FOR ALL TIME! AND!!!! HE HAS THIS TREASURE OF SALVATION, WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE!!! How do we obtain these treasures? The “fear of the Lord”. What does this mean? I thought that Jesus didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of adoption (Romans 8). The fear that is being spoken of here is one of reverence as we worship God with awe and adoration!
Keep on looking up to Him, the author and finisher of our faith!

It’s funny how the timing of God works ... When you’re down in the dumps, angry with God and questioning why you bother trying so hard when each time you get more shattered ... and just when your ready to pack it in cause you’ve given up the search for answers ... this nutty American dude rocks up talking about “The Battle Within” ... which is exactly what has been happening in my life ...
Last night you spoke about how when you walked into the church of soul in downtown ‘not-so-good-an-area’ and heard the preacher man talk, you felt like he had directed that talk just for you ... well that has being “The Battle Within” series for me ... Every night I have walked out knowing that nearly everything you have said about struggling with life, being still, and living in the spirit were the answers to what I had been searching for for so long ... and was just what I needed to hear ...
It gives me a new fire for life and a drive to hear and learn more so I can get back that relationship I had lost too long ago ... Its awesome to get that buzz that comes with worshipping and learning about God ... so thank you for being the whacky preacher man who is a little random at times ... makes me feel at home, which is right where Ive needed to be ...
