What Would Jesus REALLY Do?  | Richland, WA

This week I am in Richland, WA presenting a series of messages revolving around the theme of “What Would Jesus Really Do?” This is an exploration through the teachings of Jesus to see what He would do if He was here in the 21st century.

On a personal note, I have found these topics to be a real fascinating study and a fresh approach to looking at scripture.  Each night I find myself not only more excited about the life and teachings of Jesus, but I am also finding myself contemplating spiritual issues.

If you are in the area, I would encourage you to come out.  We are meeting at the Richland Adventist Church each night at 7pm and I do my best to end by 8pm.

For those of you who are joining us each night, I would love to hear from you.  Maybe you have questions or comments that you would like to share with the rest of us.

I am looking forward to seeing you tonight as we discuss what Jesus would do to forgive others.

Blessings,

Matthew
Richland, WA

Comments:

Pastor Gamble I thank God for you, your testimony and your ministry. I cherish the words of Christ that I read in Luke 7:47. When I came to realize the magnitude of the atrocious sin in my life and was prompted to accept the forgiveness that Jesus Christ was offering me, how could I ever repay Him but to serve Him in everyway possible. I don’t and can’t understand fully His sacrifice for me but I embrace it with all that I have, nevertheless!! Thank you for your passion and your service for Him.

Matthew, Every night just gets better than the night before.  Thank you for last night on death.
Thank you for the Thessalonians Scripture.  I had been looking for that.
I’m excited to hear your story tonight.  Just having you mention it has encouraged me to maybe write my own story.  I had a rocky uphill climb getting to Jesus but I am so glad I made the trip.
Thank you for enriching this part of the journey.

Matthew, it’s been a great series, and I’ve loved every meeting.  After listening to you speak about death last night, I’m wondering how the idea of the immortality of the soul got so ingrained into Christianity when it is not supported by the Bible.  Where do people come up with this idea, and is there anything in the Bible that they’re trying to use to support it?  I’d like to know, so I can see where their coming from.

Thanks for everything, and I’m really looking forward to tonight!  Have a great day!

I much appreciated your talk on death last night.  I invided two people that I work with, and they both came!!  To top that, they both really enjoyed listening to you speak!  Both were raised catholic, so it was beneficial to them to hear a little about your background growing up.  Thank you for your wonderful message Matthew!  I look forward to hearing you testimony tonight, and guess what, my two coworkers are coming again!!!

I have to confess that I was a bit nervous to talk about death.  It is not the most uplifting topic to address.  Thank God for the Bible that makes it so plain.  Courage to you all and thank you for your continued support and prayers!

Whew!  Was it a little warm in the sanctuary tonight or was it just me?  Your testimony was incredible and inspiring.  I do believe the Holy Spirit and the angels took up every inch of space unoccupied by humans this evening.  God blessed!  Truly blessed!  Thanks for allowing Him to use you to reach us!!  Beckie

I have to agree with Beckie’s comment, It Got Warm In There Tonight!  Again, I can’t wait until tomorrow night, but guess I’ll have to, Huh?

Wow!! I’ve really enjoy your sermons so far. You really say like it is. I’ve been an SDA all my life, but I haven’t known Jesus like I should until now. Thank you so much for being here & showing us the love of God. You have an awesome day.

That was a powerful talk last night!  It’s amazing how God is working in our lives even when we aren’t following Him.  Keep up the good work!  Both people I invited last night want to come again, and they may bring more of their family!

Matthew, thank you for sharing your testimony last night. I am so encouraged to hear how God reached out to you even when you openly rejected His existance. It gives me hope when I think of those close to me who are living a life completely apart from Him.

I have been blessed at each of the meetings and I look forward to what you have to share with us tonight.

Again, thank you all for your words of encouragement and support!  Isn’t there someone, somewhere that I’ve offended?  Have I lost my edge?  J/K…

Love you guys!

Mathew I just praise God for bringing you here to the middle of nowhere in washington =) I am being so incredibly blessed this week with your words of encouragement, truth, and constant affirmation of God’s love. Thank you so much for your message of hope I feel that your words (God’s words) have brought me closer to Jesus and has opened my eyes to his grace in my life. I don’t know where we get the message that we have to earn God’s acceptance and blessings. Before tonight I have often thought that if I didn’t spend time in devotional in the morning that I could’t ask for or deserve God’s guidance and forgivness for the day. I found myself often trying to make deals with him such as- “God if you help me and walk with me today, I promise I will make time to read my bible tonight”. My biggest aha moment has been to embrace the spirit of adoption and to see myself as a daughter of God without the fear of rejection. Last night before bed I wrote in my prayer journal (a response to scripture- my first ever- an amazing blessing!!!) and God led me to Isaiah 43:1 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name You are Mine.” Thank you Mathew for being in the moment and letting God use you, your words have truly touched me. I am looking foward to the rest of the week! Feeling spiritually blessed!!

I want to thank you for the message last night.  I came expecting to hear something about setting priorities, maybe a demonstration about rocks and sand in a jar, biblical advice on structuring my day, and so on.  What I heard blew me away.  Just like I’ve finally learned in my heart that my salvation isn’t dependent on my works and white-knuckled effort to make myself good, I now find that my time management isn’t dependent on me having my day scheduled down to the last second, perfectly efficient, with no wasted time.  I find myself fretting about the past, worrying about the future, setting plans, reviewing my day, etc. etc., but hardly ever just being still and embracing one of God’s greatest gifts: this little slice of time called “now”.

Matthew, I want to thank you for your message, and the blessing it has been to me.  Last night, my cousin’s 10yr old daughter was begging me to allow her to please, please! come to another meeting.  You are making a real impact here in Richland.

With God’s grace and power, I’m learning new things every day.  And now, I will learn to “be still”.

Before going to bed, I wanted to thank you for tonight’s message.  I was struggling with temptation throughout the day, and you reminded me once again that the solution is to look to Jesus, where there is help, and strength, and no condemnation.  I’ve tried it on my own, and I failed.  I’ve tried stepping in the ring and fighting satan on my own, and that was a scary place to be!  Now I’ve had it reinforced again to just submit, to let myself fall into the arms of Jesus, and He will carry me through.

Thanks, and have a blessed Sabbath!

Matthew,

What an awesome experience it is to be present when Jesus is lifted up! This week has been incredible! Thank you for your courage and faithfulness in sharing the good news about JESUS. I loved your description of liberal vs. conservative tonight. I especially love the idea that in terms of methodology Jesus was a radical. Thanks, also, for reminding me that God’s plan for my life is to BE everything He created me to be - to soar with the eagles.  I have a tendency to forget that. Sorry, you did not offend me, not even once!  God Bless You!

Matthew,
What am awesome week!
We will never forget the week that Matthew Gamble was in Richland, WA.
Keep listening to God and keep sharing his word.
I love the way you use the Bible to bring Jesus to us live.  Yes, live!  It was like he was right there in the room with us.
We are going to go into withdrawal now.  Missing you already and you are not even on the plane yet.
Tell Susan hello.  Hope we can meet her someday.
Keep preaching!
Love you.  Rosalie and Bob
