Worldliness
While some people literally hate Mark Driscoll, I love his emphasis on Jesus and the authority of Scripture. While I don’t agree with all of his theology, I believe that God is using him to further the Kingdom.
Lately I have had quite a few discussions with people in regards to debate dealing with Traditional/Conservative vs. Liberal/Progressive. While the video below doesn’t completely spell out everything, I do believe that it scratches the surface. What do you think?

Matt, this is awesome.
I am convicted that our path is a straight and narrow one. This is another example of our Lord keeping us out of the ditch on either side of the road. Thank you for this insight.
Hey welcome back to North America and winter

First of all you if you cannot elevate cultural over scripture then you cannot elevate scripture over culture because Scripture is cultural. Yes, there are principles that transcend scripture but if you trying to communicate the gospel you have to communicate it through culture.
What I heard doesn’t make sense and contradictions.

The current conservative/liberal debate within Adventism is reflective of the larger one going on within America and what some refer to as the post-Christian Western World itself. My humble opinion is that our task is to keep these forces in tension for out of that tension the way forward will emerge.
Having said all of that though, I have to say that I am not a real big fan of the whole praise/worship/celebration thing. It reminds me too much of the Charismatic Movement fad which swept the Christianity in the ‘70s and ‘80s. I believe Ellen White says somewhere that we ought not to be the first or the last on which the new is tried, and somehow I sense that there is still some wisdom in those words.

But he should know better than that. There is no place to stand outside of the culture. Sure, we’re not to just take on the culture, but I don’t think there are easy divisions as he suggests.

He was constantly starting at a teleprompter or something that must have been in the back at the top. Then when the camera shifts to the side view, it looks like he’s looking at a monitor/prompter at the bottom. Very odd.

We adventists could learn some things from mars hill Seattle. take care bro!
