WWJD
This past Sabbath marked the conclusion of one of the most spiritually uplifting weeks of my life. The setting: Brisbane Campmeeting’s Young Adult Tent.
On Saturday afternoon I was asked to share a few closing remarks and then have a word of prayer. For my closing remarks I shared a video that I have seen several times before and found it quite funny. I was debating on whether or not to show the video as the mood was relatively solemn throughout the service but then one of the tent leaders asked me, “If Jesus were sitting here would he enjoy it?” After a moment of serious consideration, my response was a resounding YES! The Jesus that I’ve come to deeply love and admire strikes me as the type of guy who loves to laugh and have a good time, while at the same time He is deeply concerned about the internal pain of everyone He comes into contact with.
Before showing the video I stated that this video depicts how many people both in and outside of the church view Jesus. After the video was played I challenged the audience to get to know the Jesus of the Bible and not what everyone else says about him.
If the Jesus that I’ve come to know were to have been sitting there that afternoon just outside of downtown Brisbane, Australia I believe that He would have laughed hard. Then He would have gotten up and set the record straight! What do you think?

Though we we’re out there for the week, we missed the sabbath program & that little gem.
That was a special time we all had, this
brother & his wife are recharged.
Shalom dude,

I’ve been reading Job and I got so confused between what Job was saying towards God and what his friends were saying about God. Watching this video made me realize that God’s love is not as complicated and twisted as people make it seem. Thank you and God bless!

Thank you Matthew for travelling all the way to Australia for the Brisbane Camp. You were a blessing. Yesterday in Church a middle-aged lady testified how much you had helped her and her family, particularly by taking an interest in them.
Be encouraged that God has given you the capacity to cross age gaps.
I hope your congestion clears soon and that you can find time to spend with your wife before you go away again.
In God’s love

Thank you all for your positive comments. I am sure there have to be some haters out there somewhere. I would love to watch that video with Jesus and see His reaction.
QUICK TESTIMONY - Joy wrote that “I hope your congestion clears soon and that you can find time to spend with your wife before you go away again.” I was scheduled to fly out tomorrow at 6:30am to Ohio for a conference… which I deeply wanted to attend… but I am still sick as a dog with a cold that won’t quit. My wife was frustrated because she only has to work a half day tomorrow and then is off all day on Monday. Well… one of my friends saw my post that I am terribly congested and flying out tomorrow and she cautioned me against flying in this condition. Then she added that her husband may have some tickets to get my to Florida where I am speaking later this week. Sure enough we got it all figured out and I am staying home to rest and heading down to Florida on Tuesday. This way I get to spend my wife’s day off with her!!!!!! AMEEEEENNNNN!!!!!!!
Courage to you all!

I’m so glad to see you posted this video! I shared the same one with Erich a couple months ago and we were hysterical with laughter. I agree that it hits some good points that Jesus would probably agree with. Hope you’re doing well! I’m enjoying reading your blog!
